LAST NIGHT, THE World AIDS Day (RED) Concert took place in Times Square in New York City. U2 were scheduled to perform at it, but Bono had to drop out following his little cycling spill (read: actually quite serious accident) earlier this month.
So, who did the band enlist to replace Bono?
Oh, just Bruce Springsteen and Chris Martin.
Hang on, what?!
Yes, Chris Martin temporarily assumed the role of U2 frontman and performed both Beautiful Day and With Or Without You.
Following Martin’s performance, Bruce Springsteen walked out on stage and performed Where The Streets Have No Name and Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.
And let’s just say it was pretty special.
Other performers on the night included country singer Carrie Underwood and Kanye West, who performed an eight-minute medley of his songs.
